Dandelion River Cruise - South

Dandelion going south heading towards Mountsorrel, Sileby and Cossington.

4 Hour Cruise

Leaving the mooring at Barrow Boating, we sail past the weir, heading towards Mountsorrel on the River Soar. We pass under several bridges, one being the 1860 bridge which carries ballast from the granite works to the Barrow railway sidings. Passing the ‘Waterside’ public house, we head towards Sileby where we can either make our turn back to Barrow, or if river conditions allow, continue a little further south.

5 Hour Cruise

This trip follows the route of the 4-hour trip, but the additional time allows us to go through Cossington lock before making our turn for home; river condition dependent, there will also be time for a picnic stop during the trip.

6 Hour Cruise

This trip follows the route of the 5-hour trip, but our journey will be extended, allowing us to travel through ‘Junction Lock’ and turn for home, as river conditions allow, near to Wreake End.

7 Hour Cruise

Although we offer a seven-hour trip on Dandelion, the restriction of suitable turning points for the boat make it difficult to sail further south. However, should you wish to spend longer, possibly having a picnic at a suitable mooring, the route would be similar to the six-hour trip.
